Greenbelt clean-up operation
On July 15, 2010 at 3am Captain Andrè Lamprecht of Honeydew police station headed a clean-up operation in the greenbelts in sector 2, 3 and 4 which continued until 11am.
Departments that were involved: Honeydew Crime Prevention Unit, SAPS Gauteng Reservists, JMPD and the following security services: Gauteng Security, ADT CSS, Urban Threat Management and WF Security.
Premises searched:
- Plot 30 Penchart Street, Harveston,
- Without street and N1 in Weltevreden Park,
- Beyers Naude / Jim Fouche / N1 in Weltevreden Park,
- President Fouche and Ysterhout, Randpark Ridge,
- Hans Schoeman and Ostrich streets, Boskruin.
Successes:
- 17 Structures demolished,
- 30 People arrested on bylaw infringements,
- 8 Illegal immigrants arrested.
• 378 DVD & CD’s found abandoned at Beyers Naude / Jim Fouche / N1.
• 48 people were also Morpho touched.
