Honeydew SAPS crime briefs

Honeydew SAPS want to send out an urgent appeal to the residents to PLEASE ensure that your doors, gates and security gates are CLOSED and LOCKED at all times during the day and at night. In most of the House Robberies the suspects are gaining entry through OPEN doors.

House robbery:
There was a house robbery at about 11.45am, the complainant was at home, at a townhouse complex in Honeydew Ridge, when she noticed the kitchen door opening. Two suspects entered the kitchen and tied the complainant and her daughter up. They ransacked the house and fled the scene with laptops, cell phones, jewellery etc.

The complainant was at her residence, a townhouse complex in Weltevreden Park, at approximately 9.30pm and was busy in the kitchen when her dogs started barking. Two suspects then entered through the kitchen door, which was left open for the dogs. The suspects tied the complainant up and ransacked the house. They fled the scene on foot with cash, jewellery etc.

Business robbery:

The complainant was at his shop, in Kyasand, when he noticed a black Corsa Lite parking in front of the shop. One of the occupants entered the shop and asked to buy airtime. While the complainant was busy assisting him the other four occupants of the vehicle walked into the shop, with firearms. The suspects ordered the complainant and the customers in the shop to lie down on the floor. The suspects took airtime, cash etc. and fled the scene in the black Corsa Lite.

The Honeydew Cluster TRIO Task Team arrested the following suspects:
One suspect for House Robbery on a Honeydew case,
Three suspects for Business Robbery on a Honeydew case,
One suspect for House Robbery on a Roodepoort case,
Three suspects for House Breaking on a Florida case and
One suspect for Possession of Stolen Property linked to two cases of Douglasdale.

Five suspects for Assault GBH.
Six suspects for House Breaking and Theft.
Two suspects were arrested for Cable Theft.
Two suspects on outstanding Warrants of arrests.
Three suspects for selling liquor without a license.
Seven suspects for Theft General.
One suspect for Attempted Murder.
Two suspects for Possession of suspected stolen property.
Two suspects for Possession of unlicensed firearms.
Three suspect for Driving under the influence of liquor.
One suspect for Attempted Rape.

Four suspects arrested for Possession of drugs in the Precinct:
One suspect was found in possession of five packets of dagga in Little Falls,
Two suspects were found in possession of 31 packets of CAT in Ruimsig.
One suspect was found in possession of four packets of CAT on Beyers Naude Drive.
