Bob Skinstad joins 94.7 and Kfm

Former Springbok rugby captain and well-known sports presenter Bob Skinstad will host a sports lifestyle show on 94.7 Highveld Stereo and 94.5Kfm on Saturday mornings from 08h00 to 09h00.

Saturdays with Bob Skinstad, which starts on 16th January, will revolve around celebrity guests and the banter, music, discussions and listener interaction will relate to them each week.

“He is a charismatic presenter and we believe that Bob’s show will appeal to a diverse audience as it is primarily entertaining, rather than focused on sports exclusively,” said Terry Volkwyn, CEO of Primedia Broadcasting, which owns both stations.

“Bob is a household name himself, and who better to engage with sports stars and newsmakers than an industry insider,” she said. “With his extensive media work, Bob is often touring with sports teams who know and trust him. He can offer exclusive content, direct from the field, or even the locker room,” added Volkwyn.

Bob already has a close relationship with both stations as he has been crossing to the studios with live sports updates for a while. For him, this is a great opportunity to make the most of an incredible sporting year for South Africa. “I’m thrilled to be on radio as this show will give me a platform to speak to sports celebrities and other personalities about their feelings on the action as it unfolds,” he said.

Listeners will be able to connect with Bob and his in-studio guest throughout the show via sms, calls and e-mails and follow the show through Twitter, Facebook and various other social networks.

The show will be simulcast on 94.7 Highveld Stereo in Joburg and 94.5 Kfm in Cape Town. Listeners in other parts of the country can tune in to DSTV Audio Bouquet channel 179 for 94.7 or 180 for Kfm.

The Best of RAW in Joburg and The Best of Ryan O’Connor in Cape Town will follow Saturday’s with Bob Skinstad from 09h00 to 10h00.
