Chante' Jantjies crowned Miss SA Teen

The Valley of Waves at Sun City Resort was abuzz with excitement on Saturday 26 September when Miss SA Teen Finalist, Chante’ Jantjies was crowned Miss SA Teen 2009 by last year’s gracious winner, Kopano Mocwane.
The thousands of people celebrating Springbreak in the Valley of Waves were an enthusiastic crowd actively shouting for their favourites. Entertainers Izak Davel and Obita thrilled the lively audience with their dynamic performances and former Miss SA Teen, Zizo Beda warmly encouraging the contestants in her role as compere.
The Judges decision was unanimous, Chante' Jantjies was the winner both on stage and in the question and answer sessions. First princess was awarded to Lucky Mthembu and the role of second Princess went to Justine Cardoso.
Chante is 16 years old and attends Lyttleton Manor High School, in Centurion. She has received full national colours for both public speaking and debating. She excels in Economics, Life Orientation and Business and was selected as a presenter for one of the local children's television channels. She is also only one of two pupils selected to represent her school at the ATKV Jeug Beraad (June 2009). She also won the Best Director and Best Actress awards in her House Plays.
Chante' wants to study a degree in business and pursue a career in marketing, communication and advertising. Her aim is to create employment and contribute to her community and the economy of her country.
“I am so delighted to win, it is truly a life affirming moment for me,” said Chante. “I want to serve my community and enrich the lives of others. I have seen previous winners’ lives changed through Miss SA Teen and I would like to use my new title to further my career in communications.”
Her favourite sport and hobbies include girl’s soccer, singing, piano, creative art, modelling, and spending time with her friends.
Miss SA Teen plays a major role in the development and upliftment of the youth of South Africa. Her duties include conducting motivational speeches and focusing on social issues facing the youth, such as HIV/AIDs, crime and abuse.
Chante' not only holds the prestigious title for a year but she also receives a great prize package sponsored by; Cameroon, L’Oreal, Camelot International, Mizani, Gary Rom Hairdressing, Europa Art Shoes, Sun International Dreams, Varsity College, Exclusive Dry Cleaners and Maybelline.
“It was a wonderful experience to work with all the twelve finalists; certainly, I believe our finest collection of beautiful teens ever. Not only are they all gorgeous but they are also intelligent and well grounded.
