Muldersdrift motorcyclist fights for life
A motorcyclist was critically injured when he collided with a bakkie on Beyers Naude Drive in Muldersdrift this evening, January 18, 2012.
The cause of the accident and the series of events leading up to it remain unclear and will form the subject of a South African Police Force investigation.
“Common cause information indicates that the bakkie turned into the path of the rider, the bike slamming into the side of the vehicle. The force of impact saw the rider flung from the seat and into the carriageway”, Jeff Wicks Netcare 911.
Netcare911 Paramedics arrived at the scene to find the man in a critical condition, having sustained significant head and spinal trauma. He was rapidly stabilised at the roadside and transported by ambulance to the Netcare Krugersdorp Private Hospital for further urgent care.
