Save the World Maize Maze
Enjoy an outing to Maize Maze and see their 2010 Save the World Maize Maze, their 6th maize maze, which opened in February, 2010. Africa’s only maize maze with 3.5km of pathways in a living maize field, this is a fun, educational and outdoor challenge for all ages!
2010 has been declared by the UN to be the year of Biodiversity, so they are right on theme with the following quiz in the maize maze:
• Find the 8 major habitats of the world, e.g. the Arctic, the Rainforest and answer the fun general knowledge quiz
• Find the 6 dolls in the maze and tell them which country they are from by their national costume.
• How good are your ears? Identify the animal/bird sound at the final quiz board.
• Find the 6 endangered animals, and tell them how many are still living wild and free (in association with Endangered Wildlife Trust).
As always there is a short course for the younger explorers, and they still reward good behaviour with an ice-cream at the end of the maze.
They are open to the general public every week-end, no booking required, please look at the website www.honeydewmazes.co.za for directions and other information or phone Judy Hall at 073-795-2174.
